ExoCortex
ExoCortex is Alan Shurafa’s personal information archive. Its Google collector makes read-only copies of selected account data for his own records and later use in his private ExoCortex installation.
What the Google collector does
The current collector exports Gmail messages and Calendar events to files on the owner’s computer. It works only after the account holder signs in to Google and grants the requested permissions.
This public website explains the app. It does not display account data or provide a sign-in form.
Permissions and purpose
- Gmail, read-only: copy email messages, headers, and message content for the personal archive.
- Calendar, read-only: copy events from calendars the connected account can access.
- Contacts, read-only: permissions for saved contacts and automatically saved “Other contacts” are configured for contact import. The current collector does not yet poll contacts.
These permissions do not allow the collector to send email or edit or delete records in the connected Google account.
Access stays with the account holder
Each account is connected separately. The owner can stop collection and revoke Google access. Revocation does not remove copies already exported to the computer.
Read before connecting
The privacy policy explains collection, storage, and removal. The terms of use describe this personal app’s scope.
